January 17th, 2018|

The Trinity, or Godhead, consists of God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son and the Holy Spirit. How does 3 equal 1? Hear these analogies to understand how the Trinity exists as one God in accordance with Deuteronomy 6:4 and Mark 12:29. We also look at the Gospel of John chapter 1 verses 1 to 4 and also John 1:14 to understand that Jesus is the Creator that has always existing eternally. Enjoy this video explanation with analogies.

What God Wants Us To Remember and To Forget

January 3rd, 2018|

As we come into the new year we make resolutions and look forward to a better year. We consider the past and whether it has been a good year or if we’ve faced difficulties, we still look forward to a better year ahead. However, rather than look to the past to shape our hope for the future, God has a different recipe. In this video, learn what God wants us to forget and what to remember as we begin 2018.

What Gifts of the Holy Spirit Do I Have?

January 3rd, 2018|

Those that are born again become part of the Body of Christ and as a member of that body, or to put it another way, a part of Christ’s church here on earth, God has a purpose for us and to fulfill that purpose the Holy Spirit has given us a gift, perhaps more. Learn more about that in this video.

God in the Valley: His Hand, His Voice, His Glory

November 8th, 2016|

God called Ezekiel to go and be a prophet to the people of Israel exiled in Babylon. They had rebelled against God, were immoral and were following false Gods. God was sending Ezekiel to be his messenger and warn them to turn back to God or they would die in their sins (Ezekiel 3:18).

This was a scary proposition for Ezekiel because he knew all too well what happened to the prophets that came before him. They were not popular among the rebellious people and many were killed. The “kill the Continue reading

Finding Jesus in the Old Testament – Part 2

November 13th, 2015|

When God walked in the Garden of Eden, was that Jesus? Did Jesus carve the Ten Commandments into stone on the mountain?Jesus is called the Word of God in John 1:1 and 1:14. Verse 1 says, “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” Verse 14 says, “And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.”

The First verse of the Bible Continue reading

Finding Jesus in the Old Testament – Part 1

November 13th, 2015|

How do family rooms, cars, Jesus and the Old Testament relate to one another? You can expect new revelations when reading the Bible. If you are not experiencing a firm connection with God and have grown lukewarm in your faith, perhaps it is simply due to missing an important part of the formula. Start with the Old Testament and begin reading the Bible again in a new light, the light of Jesus.

There is a worship song I like that Michael W. Smith sings called “Open the Eyes of My Heart” Continue reading

Discipleship: Walking the Walk (On Water)

October 29th, 2015|

There is a bumper sticker I’ve seen a few times that says, “Tithe if you love Jesus, any fool can honk.” Someone who loves another will have a sincere desire to spend time with them, do good things for them and be of service to them. The disciples loved Jesus. Well, at least 11 of them did. What did Jesus say about being his disciple? In John chapter 15, Jesus explains the relationship between God the Father, himself and his disciples and followers and the importance and benefits of obeying his Continue reading

Valley of Blessing

August 22nd, 2015|

If you are facing a difficult struggle in your life and really need God’s blessing in that area, here is a word of encouragement I received from reading 2 Chronicles chapter 20. Jehoshaphat, King of Judah, got word that 3 different large armies had declared war on them and were marching towards Jerusalem. They were gravely distraught. So, Jehoshaphat and the people of Jerusalem prayed and cried out to God to save them. Then God spoke through one man who prophesied that the battle belongs to the Lord and to Continue reading

August 18th, 2015|

Prayer is a very important part of our faith and walk with God. Who among us has never been in need of powerful and effective prayer? James 5:16 tells us that the prayer of the righteous is both powerful and effective. That is a strong promise! So, how does one become righteous?  Faith and works!  James 2:14-26 explains that faith without works is dead.  Let’s explore the 3 ways to become righteous and their relationship to eternal salvation.

     1. Faith in Jesus.

A man meets Saint Peter at the Pearly Continue reading

How to Defeat the Devil

August 12th, 2015|

There is a great scene in the movie “The Untouchables”in which Elliot Ness (Kevin Costner)recruits Jim Malone,(Sean Connery),a steet wise police officer, to partner up and help him bring down the notorious organized crime boss, Al Capone. I’ve included this video clip in this article below to illustrate some parallels with the spiritual battle between good and evil. More on that later…Many great songs and words of inspiration have come out of Ephesians 6:11 which says, “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand Continue reading

4 lessons from the little boy in John 6:9

August 7th, 2015|

Most of us can remember the stories of the biblical giants of faith that we can gain such insight and inspiration from.  There is Noah, Moses, King David, Isaiah, the Disciples and Apostle Paul, etc.  Most everyone also knows the great miracles of Jesus told in the Bible, like the feeding of 5000.  This one is so important, it is told in each of the four Gospels.John 6:9 contains the only mention out of the four Gospels in which we learn where the food that Jesus multiplied came from.  In Continue reading

May 10th, 2015|

Today we celebrate the moms.  It’s Mother’s Day.  Though you may receive gifts, cards and admiration for all that you do, remember there is no better gift than that of salvation through Christ.  You are super busy but never too busy to stop and listen to your children, right?  Jesus is never too busy to listen to us but He also has a lot to say and we would be wise to listen.  In all of the craziness of a regular week you have filled with your responsibilities like work, Continue reading

Keeping the Fire Burning Inside

This “Daily Fire” is what is being symbolized in this website name.  God commanded the priests of the temple in Leviticus 6:11-13 (repeated 3 times) to never let the fire go out on the altar and to keep it fresh with new wood every morning. Under the New Covenant with Continue reading

The Missing Wheel in American Schools and Culture

March 7th, 2015|

Our public school system is a microcosm of America as a whole. Is it broken or is something missing? When we look at our public school system we have a microcosm of what is happening in America as a whole.  We have ever-increasing, world record setting amounts of money being allocated from hard-working, tax paying citizens to our school system to try to fix what many politicians, parents and teachers have referred to as “broken.”  The problem is not what is broken so much as what is missing!  If a Continue reading

Importance of the Bible When Tragedy Strikes

March 5th, 2015|

Misao Okawa, the oldest living person turns 117 years old. How she, tragedy and the Bible relate…I read a story today about Misao Okawa in Japan who is the oldest living person in the world, just 117 years young today on March 5, 2015.  Naturally, she was asked about her secret to such a long life and her reply, interestingly enough, is that it has “seemed rather short.” She was born in 1898.  Her husband died in 1931, leaving her with 3 young children to raise!  The story didn’t Continue reading

Sowing in Tears

February 22nd, 2015|

An inspirational word with a twist at the end, but try not to read ahead. Psalm 126: 4-6 says:
Restore our fortunes, LORD, as streams renew the desert. Those who sow in tears will harvest with shouts of joy.
They weep as they go to sow their seed, but they sing as they return with the harvest.

Notice that the psalmist here is stating 3 sentiments of truth:

He knows God hears our prayers and is a restorer and redeemer of people.
He is recognizing that the sowing season is difficult, nobody is having fun doing it Continue reading

Enoch Walked With God

February 21st, 2015|

Is life just about living and dying? What is the point to life? Learn from an often skipped over chapter in the Bible about what is important to God. When you think of life, are you sometimes tempted to doubt what you’ve been taught and believe?  Do you sometimes want to throw your hands up and wonder if there is even really a purpose to life other than living and dying?  What’s the point to life?  Is there any?

The Bible gives us an indication very early on that for most, Continue reading

A Journey Back to the Tree of Life

February 20th, 2015|

A Journey Back to the Tree of Life. What the first 3 chapters and last 3 chapters of the Bible have in common. The human struggle is a journey throughout life filled with conflicting ideas and circumstances of both good and evil that lead one closer to God’s truth or further from God’s truth. Those that receive Jesus Christ as their savior have managed to find the truth in a crazy world. This truth is called the Word of God and it contains God’s ultimate plan to bring people back Continue reading
